Names and seating layouts stay in this browser on this computer. This toolkit does not upload them. Saving is optional; seat numbers work too.
Names & local storage help
Names are optional. Edit them by seat below, or import a one-name-per-line text file in Groups. All tools use the same active seats. Turning a seat off excludes it from selection, groups, and meetings.
Current layout and active seats are automatically shared with lessons on this site in the same browser. Save stores a separate preset of names, layout, and active seats; Update changes that preset. Reopening keeps the latest seating, including changes made in a lesson. Choosing a saved class or Start fresh replaces the shared seating setup. Meeting plans and timer progress are not saved with a class; download a meeting schedule to keep it. Changing the roster clears generated groups and meeting plans.
Saved classes are readable by anyone using this browser profile. They are not encrypted, synced, or backed up by this site. Private browsing, clearing site data, or using a different browser/address can remove or separate them. Delete saved classes when they are no longer needed. Exported schedules include any names you entered.

Help with student selector
A random student is selected as soon as this page opens. Auto-select starts at five seconds; set Rotate every to any whole number from 1 to 300 seconds to change the speed immediately. Changing the speed or selecting manually restarts the countdown. Pause anytime. Seating and class changes update the active selection pool automatically; names come from your current class setup.
Full screen shows just this tool. Float uses an always-on-top window where supported, or a movable panel within this page. The page panel cannot cover other tabs or apps. Keep the toolkit tab open. Drag the panel’s top bar, or focus it and use arrow keys to move it. Press Escape or Return to page to put it back. If full screen is unavailable, an expanded page view opens instead.

Help with class timer
Set minutes and seconds, then press Start. Pause preserves the remaining time; Reset returns to the set duration. Quick add extends it. The timer uses elapsed clock time, so switching tabs does not restart it. Time is up is shown visually and announced; there is no sound alarm.

Help with class meeting planner
Plan one class or weekly peer feedback. Use pairs for an exact round-robin, or larger groups for more conversations at once. Every student appears once each round. Open How to plan a class meeting for timing, byes, and coverage details.

Class Meeting Planner
New partners. A clear order. One round at a time.
Meeting setup
Groups are balanced up to the maximum size. Pairs with an odd class include one rotating reflection break.
How to plan a class meeting
- Set up your seats and turn off anyone absent. Names are optional.
- Choose a maximum group size and a goal. “Meet at least 3” means three different classmates per student, not exactly three conversations. Larger groups can exceed the target.
- Generate a schedule. Every student appears once per round, either in a meeting or a marked reflection break. Everyone-meets-everyone is checked against every possible pair; a fixed number of rounds may not cover the class.
- Check the time estimate. Use weekly mode for ongoing projects; dates advance by seven days and do not skip holidays automatically.
- Project one round, then move to the next. Keep notes on one suggestion, one next step, and what changed. Download before closing the page.
Try pairs for no repeated partners until all classmates have met. Regenerating randomizes the order. This is a participation plan, not proof that meetings happened and not a student grading tool.
